Happy Leap Day

I love leap day.
To commemorate I thought I would share some LKLDFs (little known leap day facts).

Fact one:: Leap day is every four years unless the number is divisible by 100. In that case there is no leap day unless the year is also perfectly divisible by 400.

Fact two:: The great rapper Ja Rule was born on leap day.

Fact three:: It is normal for women to propose to men on this great day. {for the whole story click HERE}

Fact four:: You have a 1-in-1461 chance of being born on a leap day.

Fact five:: This year leap day was also free cookie day at Subway- I chose to sample the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and it was so good it got me thorough my Chinese Politics test {sidenote: Chinese names are VERY hard to learn how to spell}

Fact six {my most favorite fact}:: Leap day in Utah has officially been declared Jeremy Evans day due his great ability to "leap" and win the 2012 Slam Dunk Contest. {for the formal press release click HERE}

Happy Jeremy Evans/ Leap Day to everyone!

Holiday Weekend

St. George, as always, did not disappoint.
It was sunny, warm, and just beautiful.

We filled the weekend by::

-playing our favorite game, Catan

-cleaning up the family corral {aka tumbleweed removal}

-playing lots of card games

-going to breakfast with the McArthurs at Kneaders

-watching the Thunder basketball game

-having my family birthday party {complete with homemade eggrolls and layered dessert}

-playing with my favorite children

-going to lots of the parade of homes houses

House #14 was, by far, decorated the cutest.
Here are some pictures of my favorite rooms::

{if you couldn't already tell by the colors of my blog, apartment, wedding colors, or the pictures above, I am obsessed with the yellow-grey combo}

It was the best and I can't wait to go back!

Love Day

This was probably my most favorite Valentines Day yet.
I just love love.
We actually celebrated on the 13th due to school and work ALLLLL day on actual love day, but it was still the best.
Here is how we celebrated:

We walked around the mall while we waited to eat..

this is Brady in his FAVORITE store, Forever 21 (said extremely sarcastically)

We went to a late dinner at PF Changs

To end the night we exchanged letters- something that my family has done every year for valentines... (I had this really cool picture of our sweet letters on this post.. but then I realized if you clicked on the picture it was big enough to read the letters. Weird. So I took it down- rant over).

It was perfect! Not to get to lovey... but i can't end this post without saying this: I am so grateful to have Brady as my Valentine this year, and every year! He is so good to me...  I sure am one lucky girl. I love you Brady!

Places

Growing up overseas led to a lot of traveling in my younger years. Now traveling is in my blood. Here are some places that I am dying to go someday (not in any specific order)...

Paris, France

Thanks to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants- Greece

Australia

This is a little more embarrassing to admit, but I have been dying to go here since watching Holiday in the Sun, my all time favorite Mary-Kate and Ashley movie.-Atlantis Hotel, Bahamas

China- due to my current enrollment in Chinese Politics, and my love for Mulan.

Maldives- I googled "top ten beaches" and this was number one on most of the lists, so I put in on mine!

Because of the whole growing up in another country thing, Brady has never seen where I spent the majority of my childhood. I would LOVE to take him sometime- Saudi Arabia.

The moral of this list is that I should stop being so susceptible to the places in movies.

I Crafted.

Those of you that know me know that I am not way into crafting (yes, I made craft a verb).
I always have the best intentions to, but crafting just takes so much patience, and I run into so many problems.

Problem 1:: I never know what to make.
Problem 2:: If I do by some miracle think of something I usually quit on cutting out the millionth square, or attempting to sew (or doing whatever meticulous thing the craft requires).

Then along came Pinterest... I am addicted and now have SO many ideas-- problem one has now been solved.

As I was sitting in class last week I began "pinning" (don't worry mom, I was paying VERY close attention to the professor).
Anyways, I decided it was time to stop "pinning" and start crafting.
I talked my old roommate Marsh (aka Jessica McCann) into making a wreath with me last Friday.
Originally I was going to make a cute Valentines wreath, but then I got real.
First, it would probably take me till Valentines Day to finish it.
Second, I probably would not get around to making another wreath for quite a while so I wanted to make something that could stay up pretty much all four seasons.

Marsh is way more crafty and picked a much more ambitious wreath.
Here is her finished product::

After cutting out a million felt circles problem two began to hit me hard... so hard I almost threw in the towel.
Then my husband came to the rescue and took over the circle cutting.
I have high hopes I will overcome problem two someday.

Thanks to my husband, here is my finished project::

It is not much, but it is a start!
Maybe I will become more ambitious someday.

Yay for crafting!
